Applying the Preisach Principle: A Field Protocol
By Daniel Preisach
A step-by-step method for testing whether a real situation actually fits the Preisach principle, with the tests written down before the answer is known.
Key ideas
- Takes any group of parties under a shared pressure and maps them to switches, thresholds and couplings.
- Seven steps, with checkpoints that can stop the analysis early if a case does not fit.
- Compares every result against an independent no-coupling baseline, so the coupling has to earn its place.
- Requires falsification conditions to be filed before the diagnostic runs. A condition written after seeing the result does not count.
What it means for you
This discipline is why Preisach pushes back instead of agreeing with you. The method is built to test a story, not to flatter it.
This paper presents Daniel Preisach’s own work. It builds on peer-reviewed research (Preisach, 1935; van Hecke, 2021) and marks which parts are established and which are proposal.
